I am definitely not hugely into makeup and if you are expecting a tutorial, you are in the wrong place. But you still want to look half way cute for the million awesome family pictures you get to take while camping. But you also don’t want to take up a bunch of space or a bunch of time on makeup while you are camping. Here are a few products that actually can be everything you need to bring if you wanted, and can fit in a teeny tiny case and take just 3 minutes (yes I timed it) to apply.

Tinted Moisturizer

A tinted moisturizer kills two birds with one stone. No need for two products when one works well. When we are comping I don’t want to waste a bunch of time on makeup and really want to just get outside, so it is a time saver as well. This one from Neutrogena is SPF 30 with is important too. I also don’t want to be too made up with a lot of concealer or foundation, so a tinted moisturizer is perfect.

Eye Brightener Stick

These Eye Brightener Sticks from Thrive Causemetics are life-changing. I began using one light shade to highlight, and now use 2-3 shades as eyeshadow every single day. They are incredibly quick and easy to use. Plus they look really nice on and are not too shimmery so that you look over-done. One added bonus over shadow is that they are not messy at all, so no powder all over your camper or makeup bag if they get banged around.

Transluscent Powder

I like a basic transluscent powder to set my makeup and control shine, but again not to look too over-made up. This one from Neutrogena is inexpensive and gets the job done. Here is another option from Physicians Formula with added sunscreen, which can be great if you’re spending a lot of time outdoors!

Waterproof Mascara

I normally don’t wear a waterproof mascara because it’s a pain to get off at night (that’s why the one pictured above is the regular version). But when we are camping I usually bring waterproof because we spend a lot of time in the water, swimming, hot tubs, splash pads, beaches (wow camping is fancy). Waterproof is a good idea, at least in the summer months.

Curling Iron

This isn’t make up, but it’s another double-duty beauty tool. I like a larger curling iron, either a 1.5 inch or at least a 1 inch. With a larger barrel you can curl your hair (obviously), but also it can be used to straighten hair. I still like to do my hair while camping, not every day if we are just hanging around, but if we decide to venture out or go out to dinner, it’s nice to have the option.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to look nice while camping. We take a million pictures, so I don’t mind spending a few minutes in the morning getting ready. I don’t want to waste a ton of time though, so I like to be quick and simple. You can choose to do more, or just skip it all together.
